Cesar Cerrudo is the CTO at IOActive. A professional hacker, Cesar leads the team at IOActive in producing ongoing cutting edge research on ICS/SCADA, Cars, Smart Cities, IoT, Robots security and more.

What is your background, and how has it influenced what you do today?

I’m a professional hacker and an entrepreneur. I’m always thinking about how tomorrow’s threats relate to cyber security, and trying to stay ahead and help people before bad things happens.

What do you think is the most interesting piece of new technology today? (And / or how do you see the technology landscape changing in the next 5 – 10 years?)

Robots will be everywhere. Right now they are still limited in functionality, movements, size, etc. But it won’t be long until they go mainstream, and this will change everything.

What’s your best piece of advice for technology executives to keep on top of the rapidly evolving tech space?

Think always about cyber security from an early stage when starting projects. Technology is great, but when it’s insecure it can have a growing impact on our daily lives, since we depend more and more on technology. Make it secure, or don’t make it at all.
