Janine Robertson, marketing and public relations manager for repellent specialist Insect Shield, announces an exciting new project utilizing the company’s EPA-registered technology to aid relief efforts in flood-impacted Peru. Catastrophic flooding along the coastal mountains near Lima has impacted as many as one million people and wiped out significant infrastructure. Insect Shield has partnered with the Rotary Club to donate Insect Shield treated nets for those affected. Plus, a portion of these nets will be brought into the region aboard the Tucunare — the only regularly operating hospital boat in the Peruvian Amazon. This program will provide protective nets to those in remote areas who may not otherwise have access to basic healthcare.
