Wpromote Named to the Inc. ‘Best Workplaces 2017’ List
At the start of June, Inc. released its second annual “Best Workplaces” list recognizing the top companies that keep employees happy and productive. One of the top companies on the list is Michael Mothner‘s challenger agency Wpromote. Based in California and founded in 2001, Wpromote heavily focuses on creating a positive environment for its employees. “Wpromote has always believed that our employees make us who we are. Happy employees mean happy clients, which means overall harmony. In short, our business model is based around being a great place for our employees to work,” Inc. notes in its “Best Workplaces 2017” list.
Edge Marketing Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary
Led by CEO Amy Juers, Edge Marketing is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Edge Marketing – which includes Edge Legal Marketing and Accounting Edge Marketing – was founded in 1997 as LegalVoice. The company is a Minneapolis-based marketing and public relations firm. Amy purchased the firm a decade ago and rebranded it to Edge Marketing “to better convey what the agency had become: a cutting-edge provider of both PR and marketing services.”
“The firm remains committed to providing the unmatched PR and marketing expertise to the niche markets of legal and accounting we have since our founding. We pride ourselves on staying abreast of the latest platforms and technologies and ahead of the curve with respect to the strategies we recommend to clients to reach their target audiences,” she said in a statement.
Stratabeat Wins Three Horizon Interactive Awards
Stratabeat, a Massachusetts-based boutique agency, recently won three Horizon Interactive Awards for its web design. Led by CEO and Founder Tom Shapiro, Stratabeat provides a suite of marketing and design services to its clients. The agency won two gold awards (one for the ModernGrain website in the B2B category and one for the Cooperatives for a Better World website in the Advocacy/Non-profit category) and a silver award (for the Provenir website in the Software category). These annual awards recognize “the best websites/website design, interactive, videos, online advertising, print media and mobile applications.”
“We’re elated with the three web design awards. As always, our team is relentless in the pursuit of aesthetically beautiful websites that drive real business results,” Tom wrote in a blog post.
5WPR Wins Stevie Award, Announces New Partnership
5WPR, a New York City-based firm, recently won a Bronze Stevie Award for PR Campaign of the Year – New Product Launch in the 15th Annual American Business Awards. The firm won this award for its work with Rowenta. “5WPR conceptualized and executed the integrated #IronAnything campaign to launch Rowenta’s new DW3 iron. The campaign generated excitement about the routine household product and brought to light its truly unique and useful attributes,” the company announced in a statement.
“We are committed to ensuring our campaigns adapt to client’s expanding needs, and to see our PR and social media achievements recognized among such industry leaders is a testament to our team’s success in executing integrated programs for our client partners,” 5WPR CEO Ronn Torossian said. The awards will be presented at a banquet on June 20.
5WPR also recently announced that it is the PR agency of record for Servcorp, a leading provider of luxury office space solutions for businesses. “Servcorp has proven to be a challenger within the office space solutions market and our team is looking forward to making Servcorp synonymous with luxury office solutions,” Ronn said in a statement.
Commexis Expands with New Offices, Employees and Advertising Services
Commexis, the full-service creative and digital agency led by Len Ward, recently announced that it is expanding its office space “to accommodate for the rapid growth and leverage the ever-changing and diverse advertising industry with new service offerings for their clients.” The company’s new office space includes two suites in historic Haddonfield’s Kings Highway; among other changes, this expansion allowed Commexis to add a media room that features a green screen, video and audio equipment, sound board, and other tools. The company has also added three new copywriters, a developer, videographer and podcaster and a new internship program for the summer.
“The advertising landscape has shifted dramatically,” Len said in a statement. “Not only do you have to create a digital strategy based on a brand’s message, but you need to coincide that with a creative vision and develop it in the way consumers prefer to digest their content. We are achieving that with hiring great talent and surrounding them with the tools needed to compete in the modern advertising space.”
Legend Recordings Signs WorldWide Distribution Deal with INgrooves Music Group
This spring, Legend Recordings announced that it signed a worldwide distribution deal with INgrooves Music Group, a company that provides independent music distribution and marketing services. Legend Recordings and CB Entertainment, a full-scale artist management and development firm, are led by entrepreneur Christopher Bianchi. “This will allow us to further continue marketing, branding and paving our own lane in the entertainment industry,” he said.

Rebekah Iliff to Speak at Women in PR New York City Launch Celebration
Rebekah Iliff, chief strategy officer of AirPR, will be speaking at Women in PR’s New York City launch celebration this month. Women in PR (Organization of American Women in Public Relations) is “an influential network of leading business women striving for excellence in the field of public relations.” Rebekah is an advisory council member for the organization. The event, which is June 9, will look at PR misconceptions and what is next for this field.
Renee Wilson Named as PR Week Hall of Femme Honoree
Renee Wilson, the president of PR Council, was honored at the PR Week Hall of Femme breakfast earlier this month. The breakfast recognized “talented women (who) are the lifeblood of the PR industry” and included a panel featuring women who shared “strategies that worked for them as they forged their ultimate career path” and a panel of male senior executives for “a frank discussion and unique perspective on where and how successful change is happening and on overcoming challenges that remain.” Renee has been the president of PR Council since 2016.
