Welcome Forbes Councils’ Newest Tech Team Members

Last week, two senior developers joined the Forbes Councils team. We’re excited to announce the newest additions to our tech team, David Rautert and Russell Shurts.

David Rautert, Senior Developer

David is from Lake Grove, New York and attended Wake Tech Community College, where he studied computer science. Prior to joining the Forbes Councils team, he worked at Xapo as a senior fullstack developer.

Says David: “I’ve always been interested in people taking control of their lives and future and that naturally lends itself to entrepreneurial activities. It tends to be a fairly lonely road as well. I’m really excited to be able to work with a community that makes that road a bit easier, more fun and more successful.”

Outside of work, David can be found outdoors – farming, swimming, sailing, camping and hiking.

Russell Shurts, Senior Developer

Hailing from Lakeville, Minnesota, Russell has a bachelors of science in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a masters of science in software management from the University of St. Thomas. He has previously worked as a test engineer, a javascript developer and a devops engineer. He spent the last two and a half years working remotely with a remote team doing consulting; primarily cloud native development and cloud migrations.

Says Russell: “I’m really excited to go deep and hone my javascript skills. I’m hoping I can leverage some of my devops and testing knowledge to improve processes there. Finally, I’m excited to be working on a small agile team.”

Russell is married with two kids, so spending time with his family is at the top of his list. He can also be found playing rec league soccer and enjoying tabletop and video games.

Welcome David and Russell!
