Answer: Don’t be afraid to try new techniques or technologies.

For many years, managers and entrepreneurs have known that hiring practices have not been the best predictors for the success of new hires within companies. Relying on resumes, which only detail past performance and interviews, has been an inexact science at best. But due to the expense that hiring new team members entails, managers seek better tools to ensure that new hires have the best chance for success.

As an owner of several companies, I understand that today’s environment is very competitive. At the moment, the unemployment rate in the U.S. 3.8%, and because of the tight labor market, it is crucial to hire employees who are right for the business.

My management team and I have explored artificial intelligence platforms to improve the quality of the candidates who apply for positions within our companies and brands, and it’s been a resounding success. Of the individuals whom we’ve hired with the use of AI platforms, all of them have excelled within our business culture and in performance. Additionally, our management team has used talent acquisition strategies such as directly reaching out to people on LinkedIn to open a dialogue and to see if there is a professional match.
