About

Elliott Phear is an artist by trade. With fine art degrees in painting and photography, Elliott moved to the city to pursue his art and quickly fell into the creative community of television production - writing and directing shows for VH1, Comedy Central and MTV, including the seminal daily live show, Total Request Live. After a few years at MTV, he met Casey McGrath backstage at a music festival and the two left to start their own creative content agency. Their talent and network helped them quickly pick up clients such as Lancôme, GM, The Bahamas, Nike, Tory Burch and Barack Obama, among others. Over the years, Night After Night has grown from a production shop into a full-service agency, positioning brands for success through strategic planning, talent partnerships, an in-house content studio and an always-on approach to engagement. If you get his out of office response, he’s likely surfing, playing guitar, or hanging out with his wife, Susan and kids, June and Archie.

While related, social monitoring and social listening are two distinct strategies when it comes to improving the customer experience. Social media managers monitor their companies’ social accounts and newsfeeds, acting in a one-to-one capacity to address issues and engage with customers. We asked a panel of experts what companies should keep in mind when establishing social monitoring programs. If you’re considering implementing one for your brand, check out the tips these 14 members of Forbes Agency Council share below.
